MONKEY RUN
MOROCCO
With no plan and no bike experience under our racing belts, we thought it would be a great idea to start off 2023 by driving across Morocco... on a Monkey Bike!
Reaching a total of 50km/hr, these reliable 49cc chariots sped us through deep gorges, over mountain passes, and everywhere between the Sahara and Agafay deserts!

THE route
Our 1,115km journey started in the Merzouga Desert, where we prepped our bikes, learnt how to clutch and break and celebrated the New Year before driving 'direction west'.
After a day of mastering the sand dunes, we set off with no plan but to reach Marrakech in a few days' time. Leaving the Merzouga Desert, we headed towards Todra Gorge, braved a 43km off-road 'short cut', soaked in the beautiful views Dades Gorge had to offer, crossed the High Atlas Mountain Range, searched for some monkeys and hunted down waterfalls.
Luckily, with no flat tyres to slow us down, we reached the finish line in the Agafay Desert right on time for Andie's birthday celebrations!
